Korakia Beach in Lavreotiki is a relaxed shore dive suitable for all certification levels, offering good marine life, easy access, and flexible depth profiles.
Dive Overview
Korakia Beach is an enjoyable dive site for divers of all experience levels, provided they are comfortable with a longer surface swim to reach the more interesting underwater sections.
From the beach, divers swim approximately 250 meters on the surface following a heading of around 120 degrees until reaching the right-hand point of the coastline.
The dive begins there, continuing with the shoreline on the right shoulder.
Divers can choose their preferred depth profile according to certification level, with depths exceeding 30 meters available for advanced divers.
The return is performed gradually at shallower depth while keeping the coastline on the left shoulder.
If sufficient breathing gas remains, the final return toward the beach can also be completed underwater following a heading of approximately 300 degrees at depths between 6 and 8 meters.
The site is not recommended during strong northern winds, as significant underwater currents may develop.
Entry & Conditions
Access is by car through a dirt road leading down to the beach. The final section requires careful driving, but standard vehicles can usually reach the area.
The beach itself is sandy and suitable for both divers and non-divers.
Entry into the water is extremely easy, requiring only a short 20-meter walk across the sand.
The site is also excellent for swimming and snorkeling.
What You 'll See
Depending on the season, divers may encounter spirorbid worms, nudibranchs, lobsters, and a variety of smaller marine life.
The underwater terrain gradually deepens and allows divers to adjust the dive according to their preferred depth and experience level.
Visibility is often good, especially during calmer weather conditions.
