Artzenta Cave Dive Site

May 19, 2026

Artzenta Cave is a spectacular wall dive that begins inside a beautiful open-ceiling sea cave and continues along a dramatic deep wall with exceptional visibility.

Dive Overview

Artzenta Cave combines cavern diving, wall diving, and deep blue-water scenery in one of the most visually impressive dives in Greece.

Although the dive can comfortably be completed within recreational depths under 20 meters, excellent buoyancy control is essential because the wall drops rapidly into deep water and the visibility can easily distort depth perception.

The dive begins on the western side of the island and is accessible only by boat.

Because the site offers no natural shelter for boats, a skipper must remain onboard throughout the dive.

Entry & Conditions

Non-divers joining the trip can swim inside and around the cave area, which is beautiful even from the surface.

Divers enter the water directly from the boat and swim inside the cave before performing buddy checks.

The cave itself has an open ceiling, allowing sunlight to illuminate the interior depending on the time of day.

What You ‘ll See

After descending a few meters, take time to explore the cave before exiting.

Sunlight entering through the openings creates dramatic light beams and reflections, making the site particularly attractive for underwater photography.

Upon exiting the cave, turn left and continue with the shoreline on your left shoulder.

After a short distance, a large wall begins descending sharply into deeper water.

The wall can be explored at various depth levels according to certification and comfort level, while the excellent visibility often creates the illusion of being shallower than your actual depth.

For the exit, divers can either return to the cave or continue along the wall and be picked up by the boat at a different location.

Important Consideration

  • Boat access only
  • No sheltered anchorage
  • Excellent buoyancy required
  • Strong depth illusion due to visibility
  • Deep wall exposure

Depth Profile

The dive begins in shallow water inside the cave and continues along a wall descending beyond recreational depths.

Tips for divers

  • Spend time exploring the cave before leaving it
  • Monitor depth frequently along the wall
  • Use a dive light for cave photography
  • Maintain conservative depth awareness in clear water
  • Coordinate pickup location with the boat crew before the dive
