Mylokopi Dive Site, Loutraki

May 11, 2026

Mylokopi dive site near Loutraki combines dramatic wall diving with one of the most beautiful beaches in the area, making it ideal for a full-day diving escape.

Dive Overview

Less than one and a half hours from Athens and around two hours from Patras, Mylokopi offers an excellent combination of diving and beach relaxation.

Access requires driving on a rough dirt road approximately two kilometers long, so an appropriate vehicle is strongly recommended.

Once you arrive, park as close to the shoreline as conditions allow.

Entry & Conditions

The beach features a beautiful sandy shoreline mixed with large rock slabs, making it suitable for both divers and families with children.

Natural shade from pine trees provides comfortable conditions throughout the day, while the inner bay is usually protected from waves.

Entry begins from the middle of the beach. Swim outward toward the alignment of the large rock offshore until the seabed shallows again near a small wall formation.

In rough conditions, avoid crossing the shallow section directly, as waves may push divers against the rocks. Instead, move slightly deeper before continuing.

What You ‘ll See

After passing the initial shallow wall, a large and impressive underwater wall opens in front of you.

Most divers choose the left route, keeping the wall on their left shoulder. The wall descends to around 25 meters, while moving farther away from it allows depths exceeding 30 meters.

The area offers plenty of opportunities for exploration thanks to its dramatic underwater terrain.

During the return, navigation requires attention because the wall extends across the entire beach area, making it easy to miss the exit point.

Using a visual landmark during entry is highly recommended.

Important Consideration

  • Rough dirt road access
  • Wave exposure at shallow wall
  • Easy to miss exit point during return
  • Rapid depth increase

Depth Profile

The wall begins in shallow water and descends to approximately 25 meters, with deeper sections extending beyond 30 meters.

Tips for divers

  • Choose a visible shoreline reference point before descending
  • Avoid crossing shallow sections during heavy swell
  • Follow the wall for easy navigation
  • Stay within your planned depth limits
  • Return along a shallower route whenever possible
