Apr 7, 2026

Agia Vasso dive site in Pelion offers a dramatic underwater landscape with steep drop-offs, plateaus, and shallow caves, making it suitable for a wide range of diving levels.

Dive Overview

Although most maps refer to the area as “Agios Vatos,” locals know it as Agia Vasso — and that’s the name most divers use.

This dive site combines impressive underwater topography with flexibility, allowing divers to adjust their depth and profile based on experience.

Park near the water tank and prepare your gear there. While locals mention the water is drinkable, it’s best to bring your own supplies, as there are no nearby facilities.

Entry & Conditions

You can start the dive from the rocks below the water tank, while non-divers can stay at the beach located about 20 meters away.

It’s a beautiful sandy beach with plenty of space and natural shade, suitable for both divers and non-divers.

Entry is simple, but caution is required in very shallow water due to the presence of sea urchins.

What You ‘ll See

After your buddy check, swim a short distance offshore and descend. Head to the right, keeping the shoreline on your right shoulder.

The underwater terrain guides you naturally, with steep walls and multiple plateaus at varying depths. This allows divers of different levels to adapt the dive profile easily.

At around 27 meters, you may encounter a large metal anchor — a notable point of interest.

During your return, the shallow zone becomes the highlight of the dive. Near the surface, you’ll find impressive openings, small caves, and swim-through arches that create a visually engaging and playful environment. Keep an eye out for nudibranchs, especially in the shallower parts and around the entrance of the arch.
